Recognizing Abuse in Virtual Environments

Extended shelter in place orders yield new challenges for communities. Families must balance work, education and care from home through year’s end. While many have found creative ways to ease tensions, others may struggle to manage the stress and anxiety that comes with uncertainty. Under this new normal, teachers continue to play an important role in identifying and reporting potential abuse or neglect. Although students and teachers are separated physically, daily connection via virtual classrooms presents an opportunity for teachers to detect abuse.
